What are the two programs?

The Senior Program is open to high school and CEGEP teams from across Canada. The Junior Program is designed for elementary and junior high school teams with modified rules and a simplified game. Teams typically have 6–15 students plus a coach or mentor.

Is CRC only about the robot?

No — the robot game is just one of many scored components. Senior teams also compete in Robot Design, Robot Construction, Programming, Kiosk (a bilingual display booth), Game Video, Tutorial Video, Website Design, and Website Journalism. Junior teams compete in the Robot Game and Kiosk. You need engineers, artists, writers, and communicators.

Is the competition bilingual?

Yes. All student-produced content — presentations, kiosk displays, videos, and written materials — must be in both French and English. Bilingual quality is evaluated as part of the score, so strong language skills across your team are a real advantage.

How do we register?

Accepted Answer

Registration is handled through Managr. Your coach or school contact creates an account, submits your school and team information, and pays the registration fee before the deadline. EAST member schools receive a discounted fee — contact us if you're unsure of your status.

What safety equipment does our team need?

All competing teams are required to have a fire extinguisher and a first aid kit on hand during the competition. You can bring your own or order them through the separate material order form sent after registration.

What does a typical competition day look like?

Heats are 5 minutes long with two teams competing simultaneously on the arena floor. Between heats, teams repair robots, adjust strategy, and manage their kiosk and other component submissions. The event typically runs over three days, ending with Finals and an awards ceremony. The full schedule and live rankings are available through Managr.

Can people watch remotely?

Yes. The competition is streamed live through Managr. Family, friends, and supporters who can't attend in person can follow along in real time, including scores and rankings.
